The research, linking distance training to the question of the professionalization of teachers, questions the professionalizing dimension of the distance training system for contractual teachers in middle and secondary education in the context of the Senegalese education system. The analysis of the data collected during class videographies and semi-structured interviews with the various training actors is carried out from the theory of activity and professional didactics. The results of the research reveal that the professionalization of teachers takes place along two different and complementary paths linked to the distance training system and to experience. Taking into account these two ways of professionalization makes the professional development of teachers intelligible.
